Lullabies and monsters

She dances on her tip toes, floating
Her head up in the sky
Her little pink dress flutters
A smile spreads across her face

She hides in the corner, just behind the door
Never knowing why
Her nightgown ripped and bloodied, here comes the shutters
Her heart starts to race

She dreams of ponies and rainbows
Princess with their prince’s sitting in there throne
Butterflies flying around a flower field
Fairies touch her hair

She thinks of a place to warm her toes
With sunlight and a place to call her own
Where secrets aren’t revealed
The smell of smoke fills the air

Years and years pass by
The happiness didn’t last, it faded everyday
Soon the jolly fairy princess
Became her own nightmare

Sunshine and magic disappeared
Monsters and screams filled up her everyday
Her reality turned into darkness
The smiles fall off her face
